MyISP - Uncapped ADSL

I signed up for the 4096 uncapped package. The highest peak I have ever seen is at 439 - that's 10.7% of the advertised speed.

You're joking right? unless you mean 439 bytes or something.

Obviously I'm talking bits not bytes. Which part of 439/4096 don't you understand? In bytes that's 55/512. And that was a rare peak. The average is more like 25 kB/s.

wow thats crap.

so even afrihost is lil better

think i will give mweb a try

thx

nm the bits/bytes story, the account clearly states it's shaped, is it P2P that you are getting 25kB/s?

I canceled my account the same day i tried it.Dont bother with them, rather go to Mweb

I also requested cancellation the day after, but they are trying to make me pay for the whole month. I'm taking this to court of they debit my account.
The speed plummeted to 10kB/s after my last post. And no, not P2P. Youtube and speedtest.net gave similar results.
I'm with MWEB now, and completely happy. Speedtest.net consistently give 3.4Mb/s and youtube clips download about four times faster than you can watch.

MyISP same as Afrihost

I've been on MyISP, 384kbps, for a bit more than a month now. Everything was running fine, by fine i mean getting 45KB/second on normal web browsing. Max 21KB/sec on torrents. But now that I've reached 30GB, it seems that I've been soft capped :( The speed has more than halved, i think, and the line keeps dropping. Seems to be the same problem that Afrihost customers are having.

I'v seen their website apparently they trying to launch uncapped for less than R100

Referring to my previous post.
It seems that there was a problem with the connection, because i'm getting my 20KB/sec again. YaY. and my usage is on 42GB so far. So GO MyISP!
