Does anyone know if this app only works when connected via MTN's mobile data service?
Or, will the app also work when connected via a Wi-Fi connection?

works over wifi as well- just extra step putting in your cell number . As long as said wifi is not another MTN account.

funnily enough , buddy was out of data and so i setup a hotspot with my phone, when he logged into the app from his phone it showed him my bundle details

Now thta is not what I would expect. never seen something like that on The VC app.

Sorted. I was downloading the app via wi-fi and tried to activate it. The app will not activate for the first time via a wi-fi connection but works after activation via mtn.

It almost was - he logged on to the app to buy data but then was like " Oh I have data" and then "**** isie , this is your account"
