Maybe Someone here can inform me as to how telkom manages their throttling because I have noticed an intersting trend in a problem im having.

Okay Telkom uncapped 4mb adsl, speed at the moment useless ranges from 16-30kb international and maybe 60kb local if you're lucky.

So after midnight the speed opens up 250-300KB, now that would leave most people assuming its throttling right, wrong according to telkom the account isn't being managed yet, also if i use any other ISP account i'm getting the same issue.

So can anyone tell me if Telkom does some type of firewall or hardware management on the exchanges?

Congestion?

So one would think, but if it is the case then if everyone is trying to download and leaving stuff running at night it would be worse when torrents and p2p is allowed or when business traffic is lower in priority.

We got the exact same problem.

Don't know where the problem lies. I still suspect they are throttling.

The only difference with ours, from 07:00 to 23:59 we get speeds of 5-7kb/s. After midnight it jumps to 500-700kb/s
