Mystery Vodacom Contract

I'm overseas and usually do my parents' upgrades online.

WELL

My dad lost his phone is some godforsaken place, walked into vodacom, got a new one on contract, apparently on the same old contract number.

Now he lost his bloody phone again a year later and I'm busy spying if he blacklist the sim. Here's the plottwist. He's due for an upgrade according to the website. Less than a year later from where he apparently already upgraded?

It's impossible to ask what the hell he did in that vodacom shop, he can't remember, and I can't find a way to view all the contracts under his name (ID number). There's no order history either????

Now I don't know wtf is going on.

To add to the boiling pot of Charlie Foxtrot, my mom and my little bro has one contract each under my dad's name. This is normal as he pays for it. My mom is due for an upgrade (normal), but when asked about confirming via telephone, Vodacom displayed a number unknown to me. Not my mom's number (That I'm trying to upgrade).

Can anyone help me out?
 
i think what they did was port that original number to prepaid and that allowed your dad to take out a new contract on the original number. another number will be assigned to the original contract and minutes/data transfer to the new number.. hence the unknown number...

and yes you can port your contract number to prepaid with a new number being assigned
