I have been playing with MythTV for a couple of weeks now.
I have it working perfectly, the only issue is that obviously the recordings are all on SD while my setup always runs full HD.
I have been doing some research and some ppl came right using a DVB-S card and a CAM module to decode and watch
DSTV directly on Myth, they have even been able to watch the HD channels without too much of an issue.
Yes I know the stream is huge and will use alot of hard drive space, but I can always setup myth to encode the video after
its been recorded.
My question is, has anyone got it working on the new smart cards, I know they are marrying the card with the decoder, is there anyway you can get it working with this hardware, or are you basically screwed if you do not have a old DSTV smartcard?
Any help/information/feedback will be greatly appreciated.
