Mywireless with ethernet

I got myself an ethernet cable and I find that I need the power supply permanently connected else the modem dies (routed via a switch), unlike the usb that gets a trickle charge to the modem. Am I correct or am I missing something

You are right. Only the USB cable can provide the trickle charge. If you use the ethernet cable, you need to use the power cable as well
