Hi

Anyone else on the 128k package experiencing a total download traffic cap of 8k/sec? International downloads still go at a miserable 5k/sec but when combined with a local download, my traffic has been capped at a perfect 8k/sec...

*sigh*

yep, thats Sentech, at least you can download as much as you want bwhahahaha

I downloaded some stuff from tucows.is.co.za and even multi-threaded it was still only 8k/sec...

I got ISDN this week and I'm ashamed to admit that at 128k it totally blows MyWireless away (we all knew that). Wish I had listened to these forums :(

15.7k local here, int goes that same speed for about a minute but slows down to 5k or so

my local is fine... but I dont care anymore!!!

I am moving to iBurst and have cancelled Sentech.

The are a bunch of twats with no real idea as to what they are doing. I only hope that one day the service does improve but I am sad to say that will only probably happen when Sentech gets privatised and even then there is a chance that wont do much...

By the way what ever happened to Sentech releasing their Cell Phone Offerings??? Oh yeah! the probably realised their coverage SUCKS!!! And probably never realised so many people would cancell...

Fyckers!!!

vowthorn, if you move to iBurst... then you are really either just as stupid as noone
or simply you are not following what is happening there??
(I happen to be satisfied.....so he thinks I work for Sentech too)!!

If you are not happy with MW, your options at this stage are ADSL
or even maybe ISDN , but iBurst is certainly not even an option at this stage.

I don't think vowthorn can get ADSL where he is, as far as I remember.

Well, as has been noted in another thread, Sentech have changed thier package names, to Standard, Professional and Premium.

For those of us that can read between the lines, what that means is :-

Standard = 128k local / 56k international
Professional = 256k local / 64k international
Premium = your taking it up the ass with a baseball bat

Keep shoveling the money into that MyBottomLess pit Sentech ! :D

The problem is I am moving and where I am moving to there is NO SENTECH coverage... I am not sure if I can get ADSL as there is the case of 'your exchange is to new'

I have not signed anything with regards to iBurst and atleast with iBurst I can choose a month to month option... unlike the draconian Sentech.

My first choice would be Sentech for the main reason that to work locally on Websites Sentech actually rocks... International has improved but when I took my modem to my new house that I will be moving into in April it kinda looked clueless and I looked like a monkey swaying the stupid thing around in hopes it might phone home.

I will try ADSL because as 'evil' as telkom is atleast their freaking service works. ISDN will be too costly at this point for me as I am a 'power user' :)

I read a perfect description of Sentech and ADSL mentioned by someon on this forum. ADSL is like a porsche. It has a small fuel tank but it goes. Sentech is like a truck... its slow but goes further... The thing is time = money

besides I think Sentech got their new names wrong
MyWireless Standard = My WIreless Substandard
MyWIreless Professional = unProfessional
Premium = Pathetic

anyways I neeed to see what the devil... er Sentech say about my request to cancel first.

Actually the moment I saw "Premium", I thought it was ironically stupid of Sentech to use that word - to me (as a consumer) it means that I would be paying a huge price for something that is simply not worth it, but what do I care if Sentech actually want to tell consumers the truth for once...
