n00b : uploading additions to a website?

Curious - from a total n00b - how do people (especially e-commerce sites) upload information to a site on a daily/weekly basis?

Do you have a template on the local side that says 'picture goes HERE', 'description goes HERE' and 'price goes HERE' with an upload button?

We use Prestashop for that....

Usually the e - commerce script's administration panel is used which allows easy insertion and modification of product, including descriptions and pictures.

template gets designed by someone, programmer fills it in with a database driven backend. Then you (teh n00b) will get an administration interface where you add products to the database, which will then be displayed on the site.

AFAIK I don't know of an ecommerce shop these days that physically creates or maintains actual pages with products on them.

Yeah. Some of them are custom development. Also some of them are using Free CMS. (Content Managed System). A good e-commerce cms is nopcommerce.
