N1 rock-thrower nabbed

WHY!? What is the point of throwing rocks from the bridge, apart from killing someone in cold blood?

Do they plan on running down and stealing the what's left in the wreck? Or what is the point?

Glad they caught the guy though, lets just hope that the law does it's part correctly.

The motive is usually theft.

Yep, this is standard Transkei MO.

Actually, the rampant murder, rape, corruption, nepotism and overall culture of criminality is pure Transkei. The anc/sacp/cosatu merely exported it to the whole of SA.

Don't know what those "community members" thought they were going to prove. They should be here on the forums having a good old moan about crime instead.

Yes, wasting their time, the guy will just be released for lack of evidence (or the docket will disappear).

This should have been sorted by a Police or Army sniper team - the guys who have been training for the SWC ! Nothing like a warmup exercise !

But how will government and police function, if most of their members are shot by snipers? :p

In Cape Town along some notorious sections of the N2, they've built complete cages and high fences on bridges to stop people throwing stones and rocks down onto passing traffic.

So killing people is better than doing nothing?

I once noticed some young guys hiding in the garden of my neighbour's place one night. They fled by the time security came along (natch), but it struck me at that moment that sitting in someone's garden, scoping out the scene and avoiding security guards and police officers, was probably the most thrilling thing those guys had to do with their time.

I'm not condoning it. Just saying that people are going to make their own entertainment. If they can steal a cellphone at the same time, that's a bonus.

This attempt of yours to do this in every thread is really rather sad. I cannot help but wonder whether your failed attempts at brining low cost internet to the people has not made your very bitter. Your new passion seems to be bashing this country and the government. Don't you want to find a new company to try and start up to save us from this crap.

And not much mention made yet of the fact that this individual was caught by the community!

Lourens van Coppenhagen of the Silverton Community Patrol Association (CPA) said on Monday he had organised a group of community members over the weekend to do patrols at night in the area of the N1 bridges over the N4 highway and Pretoria Drive.

And in all the crime threads we still get individuals asking what they can possibly do and, more worryingly, why they should bother doing anything when they pay taxes!

Make him stand under the bridge and drop a massive boulder on him.

Clean up and move on or just take him out back and shoot him.
