N80 discontinued

I believe there is a rumour that the N80 is discontinued, can this be confirmed, Mtn_data_dude ,Gerard(VM) & VC etc is it true? The n80 is not advertised nor avail in cellphone shops. Nothing is mentioned on the Nokia website either about being discontinues.
 
I heard this from someone at one of the cell shops. They strongly warmed me against getting one. Apparently they are having endless problems with them. Apparently one of their clients had 3 duds, straight out of the box.
 
:D I heard the same thing yesterday. Funny though, mine is perfect. I gave it to my brother now because I have the N95. He is very happy with the phone. Guess I was lucky.
 
My brother took his N80 back and he got a N73. Maybe I must take my N80 back and excahange for a N95 or a E90. Wow, would be great. No problem todate with N80 though. Let me know if you got it right exchanging your N80 and what they replaced it with guys?

Hey guys , I returned by N80 for repairs 3times now !!!!!!! Vodacare repaired the phone twice and there was no difference. When I sent it in the 3rd time they said the phone has a bent PC board....!!!! How about that , they were the only people working on the phone. I now sent it to IXIA , the new NOKIA repair guys and they sent it to JHB. This was done on 10/2/07 and according to their records the phone is still "qeued to be repaired"......... This after almost 3 months !!

What do you reckon I should do , except flip my #@!$% lid off course...... NOkia couldn't give two sh!ts about my problem and they are getting back to for the past 2 months now.........:mad: :mad: :mad:

All this and keep in mind I upgraded to the Nokia N80 last August and the phone is in and out of the repair shop since then........ This all on a Talk500 package costing me approx R 850.00 / month and I don't even get a working phone from them.....

Sorry you had to go through this hell, to get a unit repaired.I feel your pain.
I hope they gave you a loan unit during all this chaos? I don't know about Vodacom but Mtn replaces the unit after 3rd visit to the repair shop.Most of MTN problematic N80's have been replaced with another unit such as the N73.

Vodacare doesn't repair a phone ... They load new software, and tell you they fixed the problem ... 3 times with my 6680
 
im not having any problems with my N80. just in tha beginning when I got it, there were some software issues but after doing the software upgrade its flawless. even with my battery life, im getting around 3 days. which is quite good for me. :)
 
Jeezzz mas - that's not bad , I battled to get 1 day out of my N80.

I think I'm going to lodge a complaint with Vodacom. IXIA just cannot deliver and I'ts not my , the client , fault that ExactMobile screwed Nokia over on overcharging of repairs etc etc. Why should I be the one suffering.

They didn't even offer me a loan phone - they wanted me to pay for a loan unit........ how's that !!!????

Well, you need a new phone. N80 you don't want again. But you need something with more or less the same specs and WIFI. Well, mmmm, lets see. The only phone will be the N95. I won't leave it there m8. I'll fight till I get the N95.;)

Hi Mohammedm, I do not have a single problem with my N80, wouldn't trade it for the world (because I am not due for a upgrade yet, N95 would be nice:D )
Thanx for the E-mail anyway.I am still enjoying my N80 (like a new born) I still have a problem with the firmware upgrade, but that is network related. Don't really need the firmware upgrade, no problem with current/original one.
