N81 Sliding Mechanism

I think you answered your own question. Swop it as soon as possible. Remember that there is usually a pre-requisite attached that the phone should not have been used to make calls for more than 15 minutes.

Try and upgrade to a N85. The build quality is better, and it is more feature packed.

My son also wants a N81, as he can't afford a N85. (He wants us to swop when he gets his. An "old toppie" doesn't need a fancy phone.)
 
Yep,really hope your N81 gets sorted, ive had mine for 14months now, excellent multimedia smartphone,ive not ever had to send it in for any faults, although NOW i see the slider is starting to scratch the keypad if i hold it a certain way while sliding it up and down but otherwise an excellent lil machine, its taken a beating and just keeps going. Realy happy with it.
