N95 8GB connection

I have just upgraded to the N95 8GB (amazing ). I am, however, only connecting at gprs speeds - both when browsing on the phone and when using it as a modem. My max speed is approx 8 kb/s.
Please help. I am using a contract sim that is data enabled and apn is unrestricted.

Check under tools ->> settings ->> network settings wether its set to GSM only or Dual Mode.

Its up to you.

If you on GSM only, then you will oly be able to pick up GPRS/EDGE, but not 3G/HSDPA.

If you on Dual Mode, you'll pick up 3G/HSDPA, which in turn means your battery life will be drained faster.

If you've tried both settings, then it seems you only have GPRS in your area. Looking on the bright side... you'll have a long lasting battery
