N95 Dual mode network

This might sound like a silly problem but while on MXit, if my n95 is on dual mode, i stop receiving messages if it switches from 3g or 3.5g to edge.
the connection still shows as connected though, so it seems like a perpetual lag.
when on gsm only it's fine, when on umts only it still does it sometimes when switching from 3g to 3.5g.
is there something i'm missing?

That is a common issue. It is not the phone, but the handover between the different towers on the network. Which network are you on?

On the VC network this was quite bad at some stage, but it is better now.

i've resorted to just leaving it on gsm :/

The problem is with MXIT and they can't fix it.
It is too sensitive with the network changing mode.
