Hi All,

Which one do you suggest? Eexclude the cost factor or that N95's are scarce.

N95 pros:
- I like the 5MP camera since I never remember to take a camera with me. Is the camera worth it?
- GPS
- Size compare to TyTN.

N95 cons:
- Symbian OS... Developing custom Symbian apps means I need to learn new stuff.
- GPS - only supports on road navigation.

TyTN pros:
- I like the style.
- WM5 and shortly WM6
- I can probably get a TyTN now... (yes I know I said this wouldn't matter).

TyTN cons:
- slightly bigger and heavier than the N95.
- 2MP camera.

So.... of someone has made a similar choice recently what did you choose or what would you choose?

N95! why?
-symbian has a lot of software.
-For business and casual use tytn looks to serious..lol

I am just wondering if the N95 is too gimicky... build quality is so-so and battery life sucks?

What do you really need the unit for: a phone , a camera or a computer. Basically it is still a cellphone.

Hmm... I think I want Robert Mugabe as our president. I mean, just exclude the fact that he's an evil dictator, and then consider him. He doesn't seem so bad now...

Seriously now, I would get the TyTN. Windows Mobile is so much more powerful than Symbian, I don't think you'll regret the switch. I currently have an i-mate JAM and I can honestly say that I won't be able to live with a non-Windows Mobile phone again. The range of software available is amazing.

Well, you must decide whether you want a business phone or a multimedia phone. I have a TyTn running WM6, and I love it. I also have a bluetooth GPS, so that takes care of that.

If you're not going to really use the keyboard and email and office apps, but rather use the phone for listening to tunes & taking pictures, get the N95.

Windows Mobile .... it just makes sense
word of caution ... Once you start using the device you wont be able to to use anything else ... it would be like going from DSTV to SABC TV .. life wont be the same

i HAVE USED THE tytn AND AM USIN a N95:

if u need it to be a phone as well as everything else > the N95 anytime...
Tytn is no good as a phone > just as jasjar was hopeless as a phone.....dont get me wrong here....i mean a cellphone that you can simply dial from ....

Cameras: the N95 is excellent - perfect for anything u may just need suddenly and def better than the Tytn which is also slow on the camera application -

Symbian and Win mobile: WM has its advantages...esp when it copmes to easily available software that is compatoible with your stock managing software etc..
then again Symbian doesnt crash as often as WM so thats also a factor

HSDPA and Wifi - both have it
Built in SIP client : only nokia has it and works 100%

basically depends on what your needs are and what u want in a phone

and dont forget the GPS: yeah -many arguments here as to whats better -an external or internal but remember - who can deny, having an internal is def a plus point inbthe sense that its alwayts there -no need to acrry around another device...

Battery life on N95 not too grand but with an original car charger adaptor i have sorted that out

hit the green phone key and dial from the on screen key pad ...

As everyone knows, I am a proud owner of a Nokia N95. I've changed from Windows Mobile to Symbian and it doesn't bother me a bit.

My i-Mate Jasjar is lying in my laptop bag. I think the battery is dead by now. It's got a touch screen and full QWERTY keyboard. Except for HSDPA and a better camera of the TYTN, the Jasjar is much better than the TYTN.

After I got the N95 the Jasjar slowly became just another phone. I used my N95 for everything except browsing the internet. When I wanted to go on the internet I took out my Jasjar and browse on there.

Well, that also came to a end slowly but surely after I browsed the internet a few times on the N95. It's so much easier and quicker on the N95.

The good thing about the N95 is that you can 99% of it's features with one hand operation. Try that on a TYTN.

A problem I had with my i-Mate Jasjar, i-Mate Pocket PC and i-Mate K-Jam is that its not a good phone. PDA functionality is good but not the actual phone part of the device.

So in my opinion I'll say go for the N95. If you don't like it you can also sell it and get yourself a new TYTN.:D ;)

It's quite a challenging question. I was caught up between these two phones for the past couple of weeks. And I have decided to switch from Symbian to WM. I decided to try out the TyTN-ian!!!! This phone has been out since last year and yet it's still a top of a range phone. The N95 was only launched last month (SA SPs), I say give it 3 - 6 months then it will be just another phone (just like the N80)!!

But I got ta admit the integrated GPS and 5MP Camera on the N95 is pretty impressive! But then again, I think a 2mp camera is also great (5mp photos).

N95 anyday.

I've also had the JasJar, SP3i, SP5 and 1 or 2 HP SmartPhones and find them clumsy but the only thing in it's class for what I wanted.

Does the N95 come out with ActiveSync style software> If not RoadSync is a good option.

Lots of pros and cons.

I have never had a PDA or PDA type phone before so that functionality would be new to me. I don't really need those type of things. I use my phone as a phone at the moment but then I have a Samsung E600 so it doesn't do too much. I would like a synchronised calendar with my Outlook but I understand that is doable with both the TyTN and N95.

In the end it seems I would be better off with the N95... if only it didn't run symbian... :D.

If MTNSP doesn't hurry up with stock my contract expires in 4 weeks and then I might be moving.... :D

on screen - thats the prob - im talking a real phone with a proper keypad...try dialling at 120km/h whilst watching traffic and not looking at the keypad while dialling ----i know ull say use voice dialling - that also doesnt alwatys do what u want it to---im tallking purely conventional keypad dialling

I also think that PPC phones adds that sense of class! They sort of make you look more serious, you appear as someone who knows what you want in life. Phones like N95', etc are for kids - LOL!!
Don't get me wrong, I dig the N95, but if I were to chose, the TyTN will come first, second and third!!!

(Justy my opinion, no harm intended to N95 users - besides, I like that phone).

U are right on this one, but then again, after my experience with sliding phones (N80) I doubt if the N95 will be as user friendly (one hand operation) as the 6600/6630, etc. This is one of the reasons why I would not chose the N95!!! If u go for a sliding key pad (N80/N95) why not go for a Full sliding key pad (TyTN):D

I use my N95 with one hand almost all the time. Sending a sms while I'm driving is possible with the N95. With the TYTN, yes, it's also possible, but it will take some time and practice.

And then another thing, if the N95 is for kids, why would it be so expensive. And do you really thing that the best phone in the world was made for kids?:D ;)

Yeah, cause their parents will buy it for them:D ;) .
Seriously now, give the N95 3-6 months then you will see it depreciating in value!!! The TyTN has been around for over 6 months now but it still going strong:D !!!

Here is how I would use these phones:
TyTN = Business stuff from Monday to Friday
N95 = Only when I got to parties, on weekends (for photos and the GPS to help me get my way home when I'm drunk):D :D
