I had ported to MTN and today the old Voda sim became inactive as planned. So I pop my new MTN sim in and couldnt get a network signal or anything. I eventually called the helpline and they looked into it and called me back asking if I had the sim that has '3G' on it. I did. Apparently theres a conflict with those sims and the N95.(no probs with the sims that just say 32k on them)

They told me to try putting it into another phone, then to make a call then to put it back in my N95 to see if it helps. It did.....for a little while and then lost signal completely and I then couldnt get it to work again.

Anyone else know about this problem?

Mine too. 3G USIM works perfectly.

My brothers girlfriend is with CellC and as far as I know they dont have 3G sims because they just dont have 3G and her phones also works perfectly.

Then i dont bloody know except that it doesnt work. I have tried swappping it again. Gets a lock onto signal make a call or two.....after a while no network coverage.

Have to apparently go to iTalk and get a new sim. Will sort it out with them and tell them others are using it fine. I dont really give a toss what sim card it is as long as it works.

Ok, i made some progress then it all went wrong again,.....

I debranded my phone by changing the code to Euro1. Used Nokia software updater which found an update, all 113MB of it. It downloaded and installed the update onto the phone.

I had to do this with my old Vodacom sim in (which is deactivated but still sees the network) beacause the Nokia Updater software kept telling me to insert a sim with the new MTN 3G one in the phone.

Anyhow, after the update was installed on the phone I put the MTN3G sim in and presto, working. Tested it, made and received calls, connected to email- everything.

Then i though I would put my contacts back on using the Nokia PC suite and the backups I had made. Only selected contacts so as not to reintroduce any settings. After doing this the phone wouldnt pick up the MTN network again - back to square one.....

So i thought i would run the update again, expecting it to redownload the 113MB then install, it didnt. Just said firmware is up to date but do i want to reinstall or something. I did this and no matter what i do i cant get it to work again...

This is really annoying!

Askari send the phone to me, i'll fix it :D :p
