So i have read all over the net about the problematic n95 lcd's and all thier problems.

Just when i thought my N95 "must be one of the good ones" , it broke in fromt of my eyes, i pushed the slider up and it went dead. Black screen of death.
I could hear the startup tone and the button clicks, but the screen was dead.

As it was only 3 months old i took it straight back to MTN and sent it in for repairs. they sent it back promptly and told me that it was "water damaged" and would cost R6500 to repair. or R8000 to replace.

I took it to a Phone repair shop and was told that the LCD needed to be replaced and would cost me R2500 for a new one plus labor and vat.

I bought myself an original nokia LCD off ebay for R299 and promptly replaced it following this guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNEOaB-mlSI

And hey presto !!
nah , its still screwed. :(

I know for sure that the phone works coz i can use it on my tv with the tv out cable.

All i can think of is the ribbon cable that attaches the main board has either come loose or is screwed.

Has anyone had, or heard of any issues like this ?

I just mine in just last week, i went straight to the technical center in midrand. Now i know there has been no moisture at all, the screen just died on me as yours did. I am afraid the phone will come back with exactly the same excuse.
I am crossing fingers.
