N95 Thread

Ok, I understand. Don't know if there is such a application.

I get 2 days max on my N95.:D ;)

And that GPS is a bit of a shocker as well don't you think? You need to hold it above your head to get any response and if you're standing under an umbrella it doesn't work;)

I'm really starting to think that I'm the only person who got a decent working N95.

I get GPS lock when I'm in my the office holding it in my hand or just leaving it on my desk.

Quick question : Favourite email app for your N95 (or other S60 3 phones)?

I ask, because I have multiple email accounts and there is a limit in the Nokia software that one can only do automatic retrieval on 2 accounts ! wtf?!

I have my acccounts nicely seperated into stuff from the web, personal stuff, shopping stuff etc .. and it'll be nice to poll them every hour or so - drat! I can't remeber running into this limitation on my last SE phone :p

Comments welcome :)

Get yourself a gmail account. Setup all your e-mail addresses to forward incoming e-mail to your gmail account.

Install the gmail application on your phone.

Sorted.:D ;)

Thanks Piesang, it is an idea I might just try. I'll still look around for some app to do it "natively" (hopefully not to many $'s though).

Anyone know what the biggest sd card is that the N95 can take, looking at a San Disc 2gb?

Can anyone get advanced device locks for n95 and freeware if not possible anything like it would do as long as its free..

Does anyone know call cheater? and any other software like it that would work on n95?

Call cheater is a software that gives you certain sounds during a call making it possible to trick someone by telling then that your in a specific place when you not. eg at an airport , it will give you all those sounds mean while your sitting at home...

Hi all, I've been reading through these posts for a few weeks now. Gleaning information on the firmware update for N95. I can now let you all know that although Nokia at Vodaworld were unable to update the Firmware for my Vodafone locked Nokia, I discovered Vodacom Customer care can unlock it. I now have the V 11.0.0.026 firmware. Initially I was angry as I had waited 3 hours for them to update the firmware, yet when I collected the phone it was still V 11.0.0.16. After taking it home and logging onto the software updater my phone suddenly registered there was an update available. Vodacom had obviously unlocked the restricted Vodafone software and this is why I could now update. I hope this gives some hope to those that have been struggling with the firmware upgrade. P.S. The update does fix a number of issues I was experiencing and the applications and camera are much faster.

What was your product code before you handed the phone in and what is it now? Just curious - seems a few centers are meddling them the product codes to get the phones to be updateable. For what it is worth, my software still says there is now SA firmware available yet.

can one use the flash lite in video mode? because its pretty useless if is only for the camera...

Just tried it and it doesn't look like it is possible to use the light.

I can think of a possible reason though... the light itself (when used for autofocus etc) just isn't that bright. When it flashes, then it is bright enough - but it can't sustain that level for long (probably some limit on the LED)

Therefore, they can't have it on super bright (flash brightness) for the whole time you are doing video recording :(

On the bright side (erm no pun intended) I did notice that it records fairly well in low light - if that helps.

When i record in low light i switches a RED light on i mean really RED? Hows that supposed to help?
