NAG Magazine shutting down

I stopped buying it 3 years ago...became irrelevant.

No surprise... guess they became too l33t for their own good, and their online conduct i.e. having online fights with other groups of people on the internet, didn't help their cause either.

It's off topic but what happened to pc format?

Same thing, really. Drop of purchased magazines, the popularity of online news sites that fed people's need for new things quicker. NAG could certainly have continued as a review-only publication with opinions inside, but the advertising revenue keeps on dropping for print publications by the month. Advertising works better on the internet and TV today, not in print form.

I was privy to seeing some of what was happening behind the scenes in PCF and things weren't so rosy. The Wookie held it all together as best he could until the end.

I think they needed to focus more on online, that side of gaming. Instead of relying on everyone being offline.
Instead of demos, have fully online games on the disc. Instead of reviews and opinion pieces have gaming guides, tips and trick.

My most favorite gaming mag edition had pages dedicated to Mortal Kombat 2's fatalities. Or the one that had tons of indie, free games on it.

I remember EGM days, camping out at CNA waiting for the latest edition. Then the next day at school, passing it around without bending or tearing a pages. NAG was awesome when it came out, drivers, trailers and demos. Kind of smacked PCFormat around.

Thanks, that's terrible news, they were really great magz to buy...

I stopped buying magazines years ago. Could get all that info instantly on the Internet.

As a gamer, I bought the NAG once... found it to be a heavy waste of time and money, PC Format had more interesting articles.
