Will likely be traveling to Namibia on short notice this week.. Was there way back when I was 4 years old or so..

Two questions which I am getting conflicting reports for on the interwebs:

Do I need a passport for my one year old or just his birth certificate..?

Appears that the Namib dollar and Rand are used interchangeably there..? So I should be fine just taking some Rands for the places that are not major towns or cities or if there are issues with card swipes..?

You will need a passport and unabridged passport

Rand accepted most places should be fine with rand and cards to swipe or draw money once inside.

The laws regarding passports change a while back. Before you could include your children and wife on your passport. I think my Irish passport from 1994 still had a page for a wife. Now, every person needs a passport and children travelling in and out of SA require an unabridged birth certificate too.

Need a passport, SA KIDS still need unabridged Birth Certificate to leave SA, We use both currencies here as they are linked 1:1 , Beer is awesome, meat stunning, vistas magic....

Are you driving? You will need a SA Sticker on your car and you need to pay a road tax when entering the land of the Brave!
You may not bring Dairy products and chicken across the border, leave your chickens at home.....

That's about all that I have to say about this.... ;)
