Hi Guys,

So I have a WD Live media player and I have decided to set up a NAS drive to store all the media. This will keep all my media in one out of the way location and accessible on the network throughout the house.

As it stands I am looking at getting either the Planet NAS-7202 2 Bay up to 6 TB (3TB per drive or the) or the
D-Link Share Centre DNS - 325A1A 2 Bay up to 8TB (4TB per Drive.)

The Planet is about R300 Cheaper.

Both units are under 2K so falls in my budget

I was wondering if anyone has had any good or bad experience with these units.
Thanks

Have you considered an old PC or an HP Microserver and unRAID? It's free for up to 3 drives (2 data plus one parity drive).

I would recommend this route too if you have some PC building knowledge (even just a little). Out of the box NAS solutions are very overpriced but if you can't build it yourself than you should probably rather just pay for something that works out of the box.

D-Link would give you slightly better longevity sizewise
