Am wondering if we have 3 staff members going to work in a office other than ours for a few weeks
they will need to access documents simultaneously from a central point also will need somewhere to store their files etc

would a Little NAS storage device work for this ?

what would you suggest which model

It doesn't matter as most of them are similar, they open up a SMB share that Windows and other types of computer can see. I use the Seagate Central and Seagate BlackArmor, but they are all discontinued now, there is a WD MyCloud I think on the market now, all you need to do is configure it and off you go.

How many documents, what type of documents and how big are they? Do you have reliable fast internet at the other office?

will have LTE modem, on a 100GB telkom plan, documents are excel and some CAD drawings so not really big but not small either.

The MyCloud is a bit slow / underpowered for business IMHO. I would rather look at something a bit bigger, like QNAP or Synology.

Then, there is the option of a HP MicroServer with FreeNAS.

MyCloud. Easy to setup. Slow under load
Synology/QNAP. More expensive. Uncertain about the setup. Will need to buy HDDs
HP MicroServer. Close to Midrange NAS price. More effort to setup and maintain. Will need to buy HDDs.

yeah looking at mycloud it actually looks good, Basically its what i need.. Will look in to it thanks creeper and randy

Look at the MyCloud EX2. It has a bit more power than the single drive or the Duo.

Edit: Forgot to mention. MyCloud has a nifty Snapshot feature. You plug in an USB hdd and it makes a make. Quite useful for a work environment backup plan.

what do you need that Google Drive/OneDrive/Dropbox dont provide?
