NAS Storage

your best bet is going to be carbonite.co.za..

while you are at it, flog the motherboard as well for at least microatx, or itx if possible.. with an ATX sized board you will never be in the realm of microserver..

actually, to make life simple and avoid sales and trades until you get hardware that will work, just split the role of nas and media server..

get a raspberry pi.. -> http://za.rs-online.com/web/p/processor-microcontroller-development-kits/8968660/ the pi, case and the power supply will cost around 1k..

there are a hosts of media apps that can be run on here.. its tiny and noiseless, perfect for sitting next to the tv.. take your current hardware and build your nas which can then stand anywhere and can be in a 1mx1mx1m box.. you will then share your media on your nas to the media app on the pi and stream content that way.. i personally use kodi and it works great..

Is this similar to mygica products?

the mygica stuff is aimed purely at being a tv box.. a raspberry pi is a fully fledged computer and can run any arm based os.. it can be used for more things than just a tv box.. just one example use people using it for home automation.. it has much more uses than a plain old tv box like the mygica stuff, just one of which is a tv box.. i prefer it over the off the shelf tv boxes like mygica, because kodi has regular updates whereas most android tv boxes come out with a specific version and they just stay at that version forever.. they also tend to not last very long either.. especially the cheaper ones.. also with kodi, if your tv supports it, you can use your tv remote to control the kodi interface..

most people seem okay with android tv boxes though, i would just never go there..

Yup. Raspberry pi runs well. Not to derail thread but my Rpi2 has been running 24/7 for about 1.5 years with motion, acting as a security camera (amongst other things). The last 6 months its been suspended from a box against my garage wall with its temps running around 50 degrees on a hot day. No problems.
