NASA computers submit to Chinese hacker control

I dont know which is scarier, China hacking NASA or NASA not having the security or skills to protect its systems. The chinese have been hacking data like this for ages. They should have moved the MS machines off their networks a long time ago.

How do you know it was M$ machines?

Its how Google got hacked and why they banned them on their network. They are the weakest link in the security chain. Their routers and such woulda been hardened from the countless perimeter attacks, but just find a normal MS users, spear phish them and voila. You are on the network and you can sniff the data. Spear Phish a user high up in say accounting or some non-technical field and you would have higher access.

Now that sound cool :D

...NOT.

And that's the same way I would do it - winders' too vulnerable.

NASA doesn't budget much to cyber security. I wonder why they don't just keep the network off the internet if it's such important data.

maybe they should employ these hackers to actually protect their systems?
