Nashua Mobile Contract Question

A while ago I took out a 24 month contract top-up contract for R135 p/m. The contract includes a free handset and R135.00 Inclusive Value (Per Minute Billing).

The contract now expires in March 2012 and over the course of the contract I basically accumulated around R600 worth of airtime (un-used airtime carried over from month to month).

Last week I called Nashua Mobile to enquire about the process to cancel the contract as I have no intention of renewing it and it expires in March 2012 . They sent me the relevant documents but also informed me that should I cancel the contract then I would forfiet any airtime accumulated up to the date of cancellation.

Has anyone else experience this kind of thing? Is this standard practice? I recall reading through their terms and conditions when signing the contract and cannot remember this issue being included therein.

I would appreciate comments / guidance on the matter and ask that you forgive me for being with Nashua Mobile in the first place :)

This is standard across all providers and networks as far as I know. Sucks but that's the way they roll.

I was credited my minutes when i asked to move my contract to prepaid at ythe end of the term. They credited the prepaid sim with R250ish and they loyalty points. This was with mtn.
