NAT and other sadness

Sigh, i have been trying to get my NAT from saying Moderate to Open for weeks now. Is there a special way to ''open'' your NAT? will this speed up the insane lag i have on my 4meg line? And on that note wtf is the point of having 4Meg DSL if it means stuff all when using international sites!!! Damn the bandwith pipes in SA damn them to hell. Anyway. NAT, open, anyone know the answer?

NAT does not affect performance so it won't fix your lag.

An unshaped account will really help though, I don't get much lag on my 384 so I am not sure why you are getting insane lag on a 4mb...

Oh and to change from moderate to open NAT you will need to forward ports on your router (www.portforward.com)

start here http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm find your router and then choose Xbox 360 Live and move on

(Make sure you give the first page enough time to load)

Local games should never lag if you are playing against less than 10 people.

go to www.xbox-360.co.za/forum to find a lot of local players.

It took to long to load the routers so I thought it was done and kept on going around in circles

With my Telkom account I get a Moderate NAT, with my pre-paid unshaped & shape webafrica accounts I get OPEN. Thats without tweaking the router at all. Have you tried buying a 1GB unshaped acc @ Webafrica and testing it?

I have a 1 gig SAIX Shaped account and my status is OPEN. It was Moderate until I made my xbox use a static IP then forwarded the correct ports on my router.
