So I got a 10mb Fibre line from Snowball recently (installed through a Mikrotik CAP AC which I cannot access). The download and upload speeds are as advertised but the NAT on the xbox is strict and I am lagging badly on Destiny/Apex Legends.

This afternoon they told me they can fix it by port forwarding and giving me a public IP for R50 p/m extra. This is the 1st in my life I have heard I need this extra for open NAT (have been at Telkom and Afrihost). So my question is: is this extra p/m my only option or are there alternatives?

They are most likely wanting to charge you the R50 for the Public IP.

Also why the heck do you have a CAP ac as a router. Yes I know it can do it but not the most ideal...

I thought I was getting a Linksys.I have never heard of Mikrotik before. I asked today if I could puchase my own router to set the settings and the technician advised against it (bordering on a solid no). The R50 is for the piblic ip yes.
