National Planning Commission - Jam Sessions

Not sure if this has been posted already. Really struggling to get the search functionality to work.

Anyhow, I really think this is a great inniviative by the National Planning Commission.

A Jam - an award-winning IBM solution - is a collaborative, on-line brainstorming event designed to bring massive audiences together to discuss ideas surrounding important social, economic and business challenges. The National Planning Commission (NPC) - together with IBM - is hosting the NPC Jam from noon on Wednesday 28 September until noon on Saturday 1 October 2011 (72 hours).

I've registered to participate, I hope some of my ideas will be heard/read by people who will also take part. Most people are cynical and won't take part because they feel everything discussed by government doesn't get done or done properly. I'll give this a try though and see were it takes me.

The points I want to raise is the problem of grants. In the near future the government will not be able to afford to give out child grants because poor people are uncontrollably and sustainability having too many kids they can't afford to take care of financially, and rely on the state to take care of those kids via child grants. My take on all this is that government must intervene and place a limit to the number of kids people must have. If someone has more than 1 child for example then government will not give out child grants. I also think teenage pregnancy must be made illegal. Teenagers are having kids left, right and center while still in school.

Sex between minors is illegal, it is just not enforced.

That is ultimately one of the biggest problems in this country.

We have the framework for everything to work, but its not adhered to or enforced.
