Naughty driver caught without fuel tank

A Ficksburg truck driver was totally bemused when he received a traffic fine for “operating a motor vehicle without a fuel tank”.
Japie Setosmi, 32, was on his way from Ficksburg to Harrismith at about 07:25 on December 12 when he was pulled over by traffic officials on the R26.

One of the cops fined him for a “smooth tyre” and claimed he “operated a motor vehicle without a fuel tank"

Setosmi was flabbergasted about the weird “violation”.

A laughing Setosmi said on Tuesday he didn’t know what the woman was thinking when she wrote out the R600 fine.


One thing is for sure though, he won’t be paying the fine.

Eish guys, see why I’m so scared to step on it! What kind of offence/charge is this?
This is proof of the calibre and intelligence employed in South Africa’s police force!
So in future, please don’t..... drove a motor vehicle while driving!

A few months back a cop pulled me over and said my car would be taken away because i had an oil leak.Laughted at him.He then said i had smoke comming from my exhaust.Laughted at him again.He then said i was speeding.I Told him to write me a letter instructing me to take my car to the mechanic .He just let me go.

Nothing wrong with having another laugh at this momentary lapse in logic... at least I am hoping it was a temporary trip into another realm.

Freudian slip
 
I'd like to see the scan of the fuel tank fine. I saw a pic of it, but at least 3cm was cut off the left hand side, could easily have had "cap" written there.

Noticed the same thing. I bet it says "cap" there.

The law states the numberplate must have SABS and SANS numbers and the issuing number of the place that made it.
