I would like to draw attention to my experience with this vehicle;
I bought a Nissan Navara LE 4x4 2021. I have experience two serious safety concerns with this vehicle.
1) It is dangerous to drive with this vehicle at night when moderately loaded. The LED head lights do not have the function for the driver the set the lights lower when luggage are loaded. The blinding effect of these LED lights to oncoming traffic make it unsafe to drive under the aforementioned conditions. At the time of buying the vehicle the sales person said there is a camera which auto adjust the lights when loaded - this is not true. The owner’s manual do not warn against the danger of driving at night when the vehicle is loaded.
2) The Nissan garage installed a dust sealing kit at the tail gate. The sealing rubber exert a moderate force to the tail gate which causes the tailgate to fell open several times. The new design is not as secure as the Navara 2007 4x4 LE. If some cargo load exert a force to the tailgate, the securing pins are ratcheting towards the open position until the tailgate fell open.
Background;
I have been in correspondence with consultant of Nissan SA in Pretoria since 17 September 2022. The consultant was in communication with their technical department. It was explain to me that it is not allowed to put me into contact with their technical department. I was instructed to take the vehicle to the local workshop for inspection, photos and videos, which I did. The workshop agreed that they cannot fix the reported concerns. These concerns are design issues which a workshop cannot resolve. The workshop have put in a softer rubber/elastomer at the tailgate which alleviate the danger. The point is that the design of the tailgate pins are such that it cannot be trusted in my opinion.
In case of an accident, it is important that prove exist that Nissan SA has been notified and that the public are aware of these safety concerns.
