Looking for some good advise and I know I will get it here :)

I inherited a hardly used NEC M46 LCD monitor. I was thinking of hooking it up in the spare room so that I can stream movies and series from my microserver via a small form factor pc with HDMI port. Problem is there is no speakers on the monitor. Anyone knows if I would be able to connect a soundbar to it? I am looking at the Samsung HW-F355 soundbar from Kalahari http://www.kalahari.com/Technology/...nd-Bar-System-with-Wired-Subwoofer_p_49554172

Specs for the monitor is here

Thanks in advance :D

On the display:

AUDIO OUT
To output the audio signal from the AUDIO IN 1, 2, 3, HDMI, and TV jack to an external device
(stereo receiver, amplier, etc.).

On the soundbar:

AUX IN Connect to the Analog output of an external device.

Should work. You may also have an audio out on your PC to connect directly to the soundbar.

The worst possible case should be that you may need a connector between the AUX in and the audio out on the NEC or PC. That should be cheap in Chinatown.

Cool, thanks Space_Chief :) I wasnt 100% sure if it would work. Appreciate the advice :D

Thanks. Think I will go with your idea and connect the audio from the pc to the samsung, no need to complicate things.
