In short GB are a joke come over to ebucks
At least, I don’t get stranded in other countries with Nedbank.
I’ll gladly pass on ebucks for this luxury.

Generally a call before going overseas saying the card will be used outside the country results in no issues..
They froze my account for FICA verification (while I already provided FICA documents twice during the same year and they froze the account twice but they never processed it) while in Ivory Coast.
They wouldn’t hear a thing.
Result: unable to book my return flight and unable to pay my hotel. Hopefully, friends of friends sorted me out.
Needless to say that I closed my account immediately upon return and will never look back.
Apparently, they tend to suck with foreigners.
Ah I see, really sorry to hear that though. Could have happened with another bank as well? But I guess it's a case of you messed me over badly not going back and that makes sense.

I'm still waiting for a R for R comparison.
+1 I had a look at ebucks and the partners where you earn a lot of ebucks (Checkers for example) are the shops where I never go.
Same than Ucount (that I also have), it’s a complete black box.
Having a flat rate for everything is much easier.

There is a flat percentage earned of about 2 to 3 percent earned on all normal spend. Its the fuel etc that really makes it worth it. Not a month has gone since I joined where I dont earn atleast R1000 even on the new rules coming in. With a little effort it's not to difficult at all. But do your own research or pop over to the other group. All I am saying is with absa rewards I made r5k in 5 years made that in 2 months on ebucks... New rules will about halve that but still...
Just checked the level requirements.
By pushing it and do things for this purpose, I'd get to level 3 at best so 1% reward.
No Checkers or Shoprite really convenient for me, I shop at Pnp. I'd get 5% back on less than 2000 of petrol.
For the same amount spent, I'd get about 300 from ebucks and 312 in Greenbacks.
If I was more than level 3, ebucks would be more interesting but I don't save money in SA. It all depends on your use I guess.
I'm no high roller like some eBucks peeps, but I make way more than R200 a month back and I just buy groceries and go to Clicks...sometimes I put petrol in my car. I'm on level 5 without even thinking about it...no loops and kak. It's easy.eBucks are good but not very transparent and easy to understand. Furthermore, it's really hard to go up levels with them to earn decent amounts. FNB didn't offer me a credit card or a home loan. Nedbank offered me both, with an offer to pay me a rebate of R200 every month for the duration of the loan, if I moved over my banking to them, which I did. The rebate almost covers my entire monthly fee. With banking(current and credit - level 2) the loan(level 3) and an investment account(level 4), I'm at the highest possible GB level I could be(level 4) while totally understanding how it works and not worrying about dropping levels. All in all, I see +/-R200 a month earned after paying the fees. All for just going about my things as I normally would. With eBucks the amount would not even offset bank fees, although that could have been coz I couldn't go up the levels. I just have a better overall experience now with Nedbank.
AH YES the only way to really make bank with GB is the Amex card just carry both cards if amex isnt accepted amex is readily accepted more places nowJust used R3000 worth of Greenbacks to help pay for a freezer and 2 months back got an air fryer. They add up over time if you keep swiping that amex card.
