Nedbank verify payment tool

So I am super impressed with Nedbank - I don't bank with them and don't intend on banking with them, BUT - their "Verify Payment" tool on www.netbank.co.za is really awesome and innovative (i havent seen another bank with it).

Received a payment notification this morning for the sale of my car; went to their website and filled in the date/reference/amount/my account number and it's confirmed.

Very awesome - just had to share :)
 
FFS standard bank. how hard can it be to do this? let me send a tweet to the std bank rep...

I'm getting:

Transaction details unsuccessfully verified. Please contact your payment initiator to provide correct transaction details or alternate proof of payment details.

What format is Nedbank reference usually?

from my experimentation,one of the details required to verify the payment is incorrect - that's why you are receiving that error
