So we need four 3TB external storage devices.
We previously used the Seagate GoFlex drives, and they've all recently failed.
To be honest, I've only had bad experiences with Seagate external drives.
From mechanical failures to problems on Windows and Linux.
The most recent failures seem to be power supply related (the clicking sound).

Anyone experience more reliable brands?

The drives are used to transport large amounts of data very fast and for sharing.

Excellent choice gentlemen.
I take it you've had no experiences then?
Or where you two just a bit quick on the draw.

Nah, also had bad experiences with Seagate. Go WD. I would pick them any day.

You could get performance drives instead of the crappy stuff...

As a victim of a recent seagate irrecoverable hard drive failure... yup the dreaded ring scratch on the actual disc. I was just stating that seagate had quite a high ratio of failures on their 3 TB HDDs. I would recommend you stay away from seagate until they improve :)
