Hi Guys

Its time to buy a bed again. I want a bed that can take 2 people with both weighing together at about 150kg. very good quality with decent price and value for money. looking at spending about R5k-R8k. spring vs memory foam?
Where to buy in Cape Town.

Need some advice

Whatever you do stay away from dial-a-bed. I went into a store, tested a few and ordered online a day later. They are extremely difficult to get an update from.

What is the weight of the heaviest individual? Combined weight does not help unless your always sleeping ontop ;)

You don't get memory foam in your budget, just traditional foam.

What size? Do you like firm or plush comfort - do not confuse comfort with support, two seperate things. Comfort comes from the layers on top of the spring system, the spring system/foam core is what offers you support.

Shop around and go to at least three separate stores. Being financial year end ask for bargins, old stock, mismatch base to bring down the cost.

Also brands are all white labelled to make it impossible to shop around for. So compare comfort and spring technology, not models.

Double bed. comfort with back support, but not hard in any way.

I don't like driving the whole town looking at beds all the time. i will probably look at 2 or 3 places before making up my mind

For your weight you can look at inner spring or foam mattress.

For your comfort and considering your weight, look at what is called plush mattresses. They will feel firmer to you than what they feel to someone like me that weighs 100kg.

No need to really ride around too much, just look for a large shopping center as you should find at least 2-3 bed specialists within walking distance from each other.

I'm not a fan of foam as its hot and hard, rather look for traditional spring or something from the American brands. You could try pocket coil / spring but I'm not a fan of the cheaper ones as they collapse after a few years.

which beds do you have - kids and parents

I see they have a branch in Paarden Eilend in Northgate Estate next to the N1 Free way.
Anyone has experience or bought these beds before that is willing to give their opinion.

I'm in the market too, so will be trying these out, but probably only in 2 or 3 weeks when I get time.

What would you say is the best mattress for support and comfort. I have had a Simmons Platinum the last 9 years and have no complaints, its been fantastic.
I'm 95KG, wife 65 KGs.
