Hi Everyone

I need to sign up with a new ISP today. Got busy and forgot to sign up since I cancelled my current ISP :(
Afrihost, Crystalweb and Vox are on my shortlist.
Vox and Crystalweb feedback seems to be good. How is Afrihost now with their new network? I used to be with them when they still had serious issues, but this was almost a year ago.
Any feedback or suggestions? I'm looking at capped ~200GB accounts. All of them also have tons of free data between 12-6AM.

I would definitely recommend Web Africa. Haven't had a lick of issues with them, and they recently upped their caps (if you want to go capped) and cut their uncapped pricing too. They had some ups and downs but since they switched to I.S as their backbone they've been pretty awesome.

Avoid OpenWeb at all costs.

Mentioned the same to Belligerence....
Afrihost has returned to what they were two years ago (prior to MTN's grubby little fingers).
So I can now start recommending them again.
R199 pm for 100GB and unmetered from 00h00 to 06h00, which is performing really really well. Getting full line speeds on news server downloads on the unmetered.

Update: Given that you need 200GB would suggest the 100GB package for R199 + the Afrihost Plus option for R99. This will give you the 200GB you need with some extra's thrown in.

Vox data rolls over. That's awesome as I can't predict my monthly usage. In your case you could get a 250GB package, and the unused data won't fall away.

Rolls over for 6months.

I'm coming from Webafrica. Their new caps are nice, but their support has been really terrible. My throughput has also been a roller coaster ride the last 3 months. Often the line is screaming along, but a lot of times I'm sitting with 5Mbps throughput on my 16Mbps sync.

I'm gonna recommend Axxess here, their capped product 200gig with uncapped from 12-6am it is R110 cheaper then Vox (R379-R489). I am getting 95-100% of what my line is capable of at all times. Their support is also very good, if you ever need to phone them.

That's unfortunate. Then I'd say give Afrihost a shot

I wouldn't. Not after Web Africa's support has tanked and that they have introduced a new cancellation policy, whereby you have to go through a retentions procedure before you can actually cancel. Same applies for OpenWeb, steer clear.

Your best options are CrystalWeb, Vox and Afrihost. Quite simply.

No it isn't. It's mediocre at best.

Went with Afrihost, simply because I already had an account, so it was the path of least resistance. Not too bad so far, we'll see in a month or three.

Not too bad? Please elaborate on what this means.

looking for some advice on adsl as I am new to it.

I am looking at the 2mb uncapped packages as that is within my budget. I have narrowed it down to 3 ISP's. which one should I go for. I will mainly be using it for browsing, streaming and some downloading including torrents and not necessarily after midnight. the options are
1. webafrica home uncapped
2. Openweb home uncapped plus
3. Afrihost premium uncapped

which one is the best to use?

Premium.

NEVER buy home uncapped.
