Another low blow from 2020

BBC updated recently and Samsung Tab S3 "device is no longer supported". No response from Samsung or Apple on which tablets work, so although I've always had Samsung I'm considering going over to the dark side and buying an iPad Pro.

As long as BBC iPlayer works.

What do you guys think?

I don't think BBC iPlayer detects the device. Rather the OS version. Why not root it?

Thanks @skimread, I wouldn't have a clue how to do that

BBC says it supports Android 5 and up, Tab S3 has Android 9.

You might be onto something though, I don't want to splurge on a new tablet when it might be a VPN problem. Went through several checks with Nord this morning and connection seems OK?

Try running it on a pc/laptop running Android using a VM or USB:

I'm not terribly tech savvy but happy to give it a go tks, wish me luck :)

Perhaps try with Windscribe on their free 10gb plan. Streaming works on all locations.

Thank you, I forgot about Windscribe, couldn't think of the name

Managed to install iPlayer on a Firestick with Nord and will see how that pans out. Stil no response from Samsung UK or Apple UK. You'd think they'd be interested in working with BBC?
