Weird thing happened with my 5800XM this morning, the apps i use the most are deleted from the phone but i can't install them again. The apps in question are Opera mini, mxit and the Gmail app. I have successfully reinstalled operamini by "replacing" the previous version but i can't install the Gmail app or Mxit again. It asks if i would like to replace the current version that's installed (however i can't find any trace of the program on my phone) to which i say yes but then it says "unable to install" i've rebooted the phone a number of times but it doesn't work.

Checked app manager and there's no trace of Mxit or the Gmail app (so can't uninstall it that way)

Is there a symbian app i can use to uninstall these programs?

Edit

Sorted it out

For in case you're still looking for a solution.

There is a symbian program called Batch Uninstall V2 Express. It's meant to ease the task of uninstalling lots of programs at once. You could try that. I uploaded it here.

Hope it helps!

Edit: Only now see your edit. Oh well.

Do they show up in the App Manager ? Where did you install them to? If you installed them on the memory card make sure it is still present in the phone and keep in mind that while the phone is in mass storage mode it will hide all apps installed on the memory card.

I solved it by deleting the private folder on the memory card.

Will download and use Batch Uninstall V2 Express in future though
