In October & November things were working great at 10Mbit. I was consistently hitting ~1,000KBps on downloads. The super was: ADSL Line-Telkom 4/10 // ISP-@Lantic.
The Telkom lines were stolen and service was down for ~2 weeks. When it came back, it was working fine for a bit. Things began to slow down, and I figured it had a fair chance at being from @Lantic, so I switched to MWEB in December. I have a 10Mbit account with them, but the ADSL line is still from Telkom. When the Telkom line is set to sync at 10Mbit, I'll get a SNR between 7-9. Real download speeds when it was set to sync that high were dipping as low as 30KBps. Dropping the Telkom sync down to 4Mbit resolved the super slow speeds.
Can anyone offer insight into why this might be happening? Are my hopes of getting anything above 4Mbit unrealistic? According to Telkom, it's an issue with "my sync to MWEB". Would dropping my line rental with Telkom and moving that to MWEB as well likely help with my speed?
