Hi everyone,

I live in Pretoria, and want to lay paving. I want to pave a driveway, and an area next to my hous, plus minu 230 sqm.

Do anyone have good stories to tell which paving company or business to use.

It is one of those cases pick the wrong paver and you are stuck with the result for keep, or need to re-do it. I want to make sure the paver I pick must do a descent job. Also, heard and read plenty stories of fly by nights actually walking away with your deposit without doing any work, or doing horendous work, of not completing work, or afterwards not addressing issues.

Who would you advise I use.

And also, if you would advise a business supplying bricks, who would you recommend.

Our complex uses Mr Poletti of Poletti construction in Lynnwood manor. He is an older man, supervises properly and has been in the business for years. Not the cheapest in town, but not a cowboy either. He will be able to advise you on best sources for bricks

For clay pavers try www.corobrik.co.za and concrete pavers www.technicrete.co.za, last time i checked clay pavers were more expensive. Concrete pavers look at double bond or the zigzag paver for heavy duty applications. Both companies have been around for ages and their products are good.
Cant help you with a paver though, could ring up technicrete / corobrik and ask if they have preferred installer in your region?

I'd like to revive this thread - my questions are similar enough to fit in well.

Our complex have cement paving which is beginning to crumble in places. It is quite old, and might need to be replaced. If we replace, focus would be on durability, ease of maintenance, and cost. The TCO would probably be more important than aesthetics. So, for my questions:

What alternatives are there, and what sort of costs are we looking at? The complex is in Pretoria. I'm not sure about the size of the pavement, but the complex is about 30 units.
