Need advice on cheap automatic

Reason is purely a bang for your buck one. At the price you can't get a better deal anywhere else. The service I have received from the local dealer in Stellenbosch is the best I have ever experienced, and I am not even a Hyundai owner.

Thanks for the advice, just got call from hyundai regarding i10 1.25 automatic:
IT is confirmed that the brochure is wrong regarding the 5 speed automatic, IT IS 4 Speed automatic, same as the picanto.

Now i am coming now with brand new i10 or picanto 2011 model (i searched 2nd hand market, not much u can find, since it all 2011 model, and i dont think i want any old model)

so, which one now? both got almost the same spec and equipment, which one is safer and more efficient and cheaper OM part?

They are both the same cars with a different frock.

Hyundai's after sales service generally better than Kia's (Imperial)... or that's what I've heard. I've never dealt with Imperial, but Hyundai has been good (3 cars).

My brand new polo vivo drives likes a dream, I love driving it, now that I'm used to auto and not gears (25 years of gear driving). I will be installing an ipod player, at the moment using ipod/earphones. I read the whole manual :)

I have looked at all the cars mentioned in great detail.

The Polo is simply not offering the features the Korean cars are offering. You got to pay extra for anything worthwhile. The engine in the polo is also old technology.

The i10 is a sweet little care and share similarities with the Picanto 2011 model. Same engine and chassis.

However the Picanto has more to offer when it comes to features.

I purchased the Picanto 1.25 Ex Auto and have it for about 2 weeks now. It is certainly a nice driving car. What really is striking is the build quality on these new cars.

Regards 4 or 5 speeds in an auto gearbox … I too was concerned about this … but if you look at the gear ratios, you will notice that the 4 speed auto box top gear is almost same as the 5th gear in a manual. So top end does not suffer at all. The only area you suffer is the slightly worse fuel consumption due to the losses in the torque converter. And you will get this in most “simple” torque converters on others cars as well.

Oh yes … power or cruising speed on the highway is surprising to say the least. It certainly does not lack power. The smaller 1 liter model (test drove that one too) is very week. The 1.25 is much much better.
