Need advice on streaming setup.

Okay, everything is running smooth. I have a decent pc, streaming software, microphone and video setup. Only problem now is that every line from 1-4mb has and upload speed of 512kb. This is pretty much the upload speed of a really unstable 480p 60fps video. This maxes out the line, i can play a single player game and stream with 0.3% Frame loss. If i open mulitplayer (which is really needed as i am a commentator) its impossible as the game starts to eat into the 512kb upload.

Here is my problem. My road barley supports 4mb as it is. So how am i ment to stream when i need a decent 1mb upload rate. 10mb has that however my road will never get that this time.

Is there any possible way i can use something similar to iBurst or any type of 3G or wireless connection that would offer at least a stable 1MB upload speed. Moving is out of the question, would cost to much to move and only start making money a month afterwards.

If anybody can help me with suggestions as to how i could do this, would be greatful.

Thanks,

You can bond multiple DSL lines! just remember the bonding of lines has some overhead, thus 2x 512 wouldn't make 1024.

Don't know how much you want to spend, but you can get a LTE solution(from the cellular providers or other, where the other is a more one to one solution) or a wireless company to supply you with bandwidth, then the up and down is roughly the same.

When we have done live video streaming for events we normally use a professional 3G modem.
You can get ones that can take dual sims with auto failover if you want the redundancy.
If you have issues getting a strong signal you can put up a Poynting aerial to improve signal but the big thing is the contract and data cost.
If you get a firewall you can separate the traffic so the actual gaming will go through your ADSL and the streaming can go through the 3G modem.

also look at your compression codecs.
looking into different compression codecs and resolutions will change the size of the stream.
what streaming software are you using?

Xsplit pro,Already sorted out all my codecs but you know a 512KB upload is actually pretty horrible to do anything. I Think getting a 3G modem would solve the problem i am having only problem is i have no idea how to set the firewall up.

Dont see how firewall setup would need to be changed. You'd be gaming using the 3g only, can't route traffic up from one connection, and down another for a single application

Also why don't you check for a Fibre/WiMax link if guaranteed uplink speed is your requirement

You can assign specific traffic to go out a specific WAN port (obviously this would require a firewall/router with dual WAN ports) You can specify that traffic going to your streaming site would go through WAN port 2 and everything else through WAN port 1.

I can't imagine you would want to game on 3G. whenever i have tried I have had terrible latency.

Wimax is also an option if available in you area. Fibre might get a bit pricey and they sometimes don't like running to a residential address from my experience with deals with Neotel and Dark Fibre. the nice thing with Fibre/WiMax like PsyWulf says is that you can generally get a guaranteed upload speed.

Yes I know you can route traffic as such, however as I specified the same application cannot use one uplink and a different downlink,so unless he's using a seperate application for commentary and another for the actual game - which is possible but I didnt see it specified - one connection would be used

The commentary and video stream is all in the one program and then the game is run separate. So it should be possible to run them separate with different uploads.

Thanks,

Why upload at 60FPS and not 30FPS?

That's the first change you should make.
