I've upgraded my line to 40 Mbps through Afrihost.
All seem to went relatively well, and when I do a speed test using Speedtest.net it runs at about 38 Mbps, which is perfect.

The problem comes in when I download a file via either a download manager or HTTP. It downloads a single file at a max of 1000 Kbps. At first I thought that means I'm still on 10 Mbps, until I stared downloading a 2nd and 3rd file simultaneously.

It downloads all three of them at 1000 Kbps each simultaneously - for a total of 3000 Kbps.

Does anyone know why this is, that a single file only downloads at 1000 Kbps?

Thanks in Advance,
RS

Bad mirrors?

Is this literally every single file. Even torrents? If you can test further. Also were you on a 20meg before the 40? or 10meg?

Hi,

Thx for the reply. Yes, happens to every single file.
Have tried it with different sources, via download manager as well as with browser http.

I was on 20 Mbps for about a week - same thing happened, except for the total speed came down when I downloaded more than two files at a time.

Hmmm that's strange maybe log a fault with AH they will probably tell you they cant fix it. So then just msg telkom on fb or Twitter. If they fix stuff they will charge you.
