Firstly Im new here so Hi All and my apologies if I am posting in the incorrect area.

I just need help to answer the question of what router (spec wise) would fix the below issue.

I have a TP link router (cost about R450 and says it can handle up to 150mb) The ethernet cable was plugged into it and
provided wifi to all devices and worked well. Doing speedtests on all connected devices always showed full 4mb speed (which is my line speed and is uncapped/unshaped). I was also very happy with overall network speed. I could (without lag) stream Hulu & netflix to two separate devices for the family while i played COD online on the xbox. However when doing a network test on the xbox it always only showed a download speed of +-1.5mb.

Two days ago my router broke so I used my MacBook to create a hotspot for all devices and on some occasions plugged the ethernet directly into the xbox. With both connections my xbox showed a download speed of 3.98mb constantly. With being able to understand why this would happen with direct ethernet plug-in. I dont know why my router cant provide 4mb over WIFI to the xbox and my Macbook can. I friend who knows as much as me says the Macbook WIFI adapter is faster so I should get a faster router.

What router would i be looking to buy to get 4mb over wifi to my xbox and what is meant by higher or dual band routers.

Again my apologies for what is probably a rookie questions (no offense will be taken should a bit of noob bashing occur :)
