So to cut a long story short. I have a few traffic fines for driving in the bus lane on the N2 into Cape Town in the morning (yes i know it was wrong)

I am now sitting with 5 BMT fines, at R1500 a pop. (might possibly get more because i have been doing it often since the last fine, however i have stopped now). Feel like a bit of a chop and deserve it but can anybody offer some advice on how to get them reduced?

For financial reasons, I cannot afford to pay the full amounts.

Do I wait for summons and go see prosecutor and explain my side and hear the verdict?

I heard you can also send a letter to the traffic department explaining the situation and wait for verdict?

By no means trying to get out of it, I'm guilty. Just don't wanna end up in the Chookie:crying:

Any advice?

Go speak to the prosecutor plead guilty and beg them for leniency while promising to never do it again...and seriously don't,you might just get hit by one of those buses next time and thats not going to be too pleasant!:wtf:

Yep, just head into town...think it's by Town Hall...go in, wait in line, fill out form, take it to prosecutor & ask them to reduce. I've always had mine reduced by at least half.
