Hi guys,

We're looking into upgrading to a 20mb VDSL, currently have a 10mb ADSL line.
Is it possible to "split" one ADSL line, into 2, so that one device gets a piece of the line, while the other gets the remaining?

I do a lot of online gaming (Call Of Duty, CS GO, Dota), so I know with my current line, if there's any downloads or streams going on while i play, my ping jumps to the point where I can't play anymore.

With the 20mb VDSL, will it make any difference on lag issues while there are downloads or streams? I've seen routers where you can configure 2 SSID's, but will that in any way, effect the ping?

There's no fibre in my area, so unfortunately that's not an option.

Still stuck with Mweb's FON Router.

Would it be better to get a router that has QoS?

A proper QoS should improve your experience.
Here is a similar case (same router, it's popular among ISP for flashing their custom "flavor" of the OS on to, like Samsung does with Android) https://community.plus.net/t5/Broad...fic-shaping-on-Technicolor-TG582n/td-p/925076.
It seems that it doesn't handle prioritizing well, I suggest you ask for suggestions and make sure you get a router that can rate limit so that no one connection can upload more than about 80% of your upload.

As you can see with the above, I made it so that every connection has a minimum upload and a max that is less than the 1024kB/s (two devices exempted), which made it so someone can upload a file while someone else is gaming.
