I am trying to repair a ipod classic and it seems both hdd i have is bust as it wont read in diagnostic mode.basically the ipod is a brick without a working hdd.I might have something to swop for it.I just need it for diagnostic purposes.

Spend $5 (I think), get the ZIF to CF adapter and put a compact flash card in it.
You can ofcourse swap my 1.8" 60GB HDD for a 64GB CF if you can find one.

I've been quoted R4200 for a replacement!!!! That's nuts.

1.8" SSD with ZIF connector. Same could probably be used in a iPOD.

Just double check the connector on your existing drive before ordering. I think one model up from your laptop it came with a ZIF or uSATA connector.
