So in 2020 an uncle of mine helped me with a vodacom contract. Before the contact ended he stopped paying for it and vodacom deactivated the number. The number was my recovery for my Google account. My phone was stolen and when I had gotten a new phone and wanted to log into my Google account I had forgotten my password. I could not use the vodacom number to recover my account as the number was now dead. I have tried everything to recover my account since 2022. Yesterday I just happen to send a hey to my old number on WhatsApp and it delivered.

I explained my situation to the person on the other side and she was willing to help me today. Today came and she had a lot of excuses. (Understandable, people are paranoid). I have proven to her over and over who I am and given her proof that it waa my number to use and that I am the owner of the account I am trying to recover.

They just don't want to give me the code from google. Her husband has actually threatened to kill me.

How can I get that OTP from them or is there any other way of obtaining the OTP so I can recover my Google account before Google decides to delete the account.

Please I would really appreciate it if anyone can help me

Have you tried google support directly?
I have tried Google support. They are so unhelpful. I literally paid for a Google one subscription just to be able to have access to the chat support feature. All they say is I should just keep on trying to recover my account. What gets me is that on the password entry page when I enter my password it says it's wrong I should click on forgot password but the forgot password button is not available for me to click on. There is no forgot password option.

Pull a sim swap on them. Ask your friendly mates at the black axe or any other dodgy part of the interwebs.

What's the number? Maybe we can reach out to them to help too.

Serious note, I assume you followed and tried a different method of verification as well?

Hi thank you for your message. I spoke to Google again last night to see if they can assist. They still let me do the same things.

But now it seems as if I have the right password, but I still need to verify that I am the owner of the account. And they want to send an OTP to the number or a code to my recovery email address and that address has been deleted.

Can I send you a private message with the number to see if you can maybe assist me?

Ask them to meet with you at the nearest police station... if possible.

This, they however might be in a different province so OP might need to do a bit of flying/driving.

@DDtintin Try offer some money to them to meet up, im sure R500 will have them running.

Start with R200, then if they say R300/400/500 say yes.

I did tell them that I would be more than happy if they go to the police station and I will go to the police station here where I am and I will let the police speak to the police at the station where they are and I will do everything Infront of them. I will also send a copy of my ID and all the proof I have as well as proof of address so that if anything suspicious happens on their phone or accounts then the police will know where to find me for questioning.

They aren't able to do it that way as the husband is hooked up to machines to help him breathe.

The wife is all onboard to help me. The husband is the difficult one.

You are out of luck. This isn’t the place to learn to phish. If the new owner won’t help then you have no recourse. Write it off to experience.
Easy for you to say. I have documents in my drive that I need badly. And photos of my son from when he was born.

My whole life is in that account.

I will also do what the husband is doing. No way will I assist with such a request.

Everything you posted is what scammers use every day. You may be honest and sincere, but we live in dodgy times.

I have sent a picture of me holding my ID next to my face, my Google account is my first and second name. I have sent them screen shots of emails I receive on a monthly basis from Google reminding me that I am sharing my photos with that account. I have sent Facebook posts where I have that cellphone number in the post from 2020. I have sent so much proof that I am legit and honest. I have even told them they can log in and do the account recovery for me and just change the password and give me the new password. Still he is stubborn. A stubborn Afrikaner from a small town in the western cape.

So take in to consideration all that I have given them and said to them would you still have done what the husband is doing?

That's a difficult one to answer. I have a low tolerance for these type of callers.

If you got as far as you did with them, I may very well help you. But these days I drop the call very fast.

I would rather try google AGAIN than continue down this path...
I agree, or maybe get the owner of the number to recover the password and give it to me - that has no risk for him
