I broke my Windows installation and now I only have linux, but I need some of the emails from Outlook. How do I get them in linux?

Good luck. Google for the location of emails in Windows. I never used Outlook seriously so I don't know but if I remember correctly it is in a config-type file or something.

Microsoft Outlook for Office? Or the Outlook Express that came with Windows XP?

Good question. I assume Outlook?
I just remember it is somewhere in the user documents (C:\documents and settings\<user>\application data I think)

froot is close.

If its outlook its usually in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

Outlook express is usually in c:\documents and settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\<messed up hex number here>\Microsoft\Outlook Express

The emails are stored in the file "Outlook.pst" located in "C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\" AFAIK

yeah sorry, forgot about the local settings part. for me it is usually /etc/..... (really easy since it's in Linux)

Ok I have the pst file. Now how do I get it imported into an email program in linux?

If it is compatible, try the following: I use Evolution. Go to File->Import and follow the instructions there. It should work.

Then your best bet is to install office 2003 or earlier in Wine and to import it from there. Then you can at least salvage what you need.

Then you can try reinstalling windows and installing office 2k7? Office 2007 is not supported in Linux as of yet. Neither in crossover nor in wine.
