Hi All

I am sure the answer to my question is simple, so lets hope I am able to find it.

I have created a drop down list ( from a list of 5 options ) these relate to different rates which need to be used in the detail table of a workbook. I now would like to copy that validation list down the entire book, so that the user just has to click on the cell and select the option. However I do not want it to display data unless the user has selected it?

Is there an easy way to complete this?

Not quite understanding what you're after. If it's just the validation that you want, then use a special paste to do so. If it's a drop down then why the need for validation?

Copy cell
Select paste area and right click
Pick "paste special" from menu
Pick "validation"

He might have formulas using the validation options as arguments

Op created a validation with 5 rates in one of the cells. He wants the user to pick a rate in every row entery.
The spreadsheet is probably very long and he's looking for a quicker way to duplicate the validation down the one column.

OK figured it out, so simple.

If you copy the list down and then delete the contents and copy that its perfect. FYI

Or you could just copy the format and validation using a special paste...
