Bought Need for Speed Shift for PC.

Whenever the game loads, just before the race starts i get an error message.

The message reads.

shift.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. If you were in the middle of something, the info you were working on might be lost.

Please tell Microsoft about the problem. We have created an error report that you can send it.

Debug Send Erorr Report Dont Send

What can the error be?

Ram?
Graphics card?

Any help will be appreciated.

I cant say im surprised.

Almost every EA game I've bought, Ive had to troubleshoot just to get it to work. Some times II have to even crack originals. Everything in my PC is pretty high spec as well.

I'll download the pirated version of shift, to see if it works, before wasting money on another "Stuck on black screen" EA game.

Try the patch - You never know if it works till you try it. Download a no-cd crack for it and see, maybe theres some security conflict thats causing it to crash

Wow i guess im not the only one struggling to get this game going .... i used to have the crashing problem which is solved by googling and finding a file that basically rewrites your config and makes it slightly more stable :)

But after fixing that i got the black screen problem all over again, which cant be fixed unless the 98 compatibility trick is used, which is useless as it makes the game borderline unplayable :(

Anyone else have any other solutions ??

Hmm I would say check for spyware and also could be a driver problem.

NFS Shift

I had a similar problem.
Got Vista Ultimate 32bit.
game launches and stops on the starting screen oof the game.

updated anti virus and then loaded Windows 7.
Game works well but have to changed a few resoultion settings in the game otherwise that game lags.

oh and i got a decent spec laptop - silly me i tort it would worked smoothly.

Awesome Game btw:D
